The home spa products available in the Ligne Tropicale Range are: De-Ageing Saltmousse; De-Ageing Body Balm and De-Aging Mist.
I tried the De-Ageing Saltmousse
Sea salt harvested off the French coast of Brittany has been blended with other natural ingredients to create De-Ageing Saltmousse, an aromatic, luxurious lather. Used regularly it helps the body to remove toxins and impurities in the most sensual of ways. Saltmousse is rich in micronised minerals, vitamins and enzymes which detoxify, alleviate fluid retention and activate blood circulation. Skin emerges visibly smoother and more radiant. The De-Ageing Saltmousse also contains delicious fruit extracts including Papaya which brightens the skin, Pineapple which is a natural exfoliant, and Carrot known to stimulate cell-growth.
When I opened the tub I was (pleasantly) surprised by the bright peachy, orange shade of the exfoliator and the tropical fruit smell which is delicious but unfortunately not edible! It is a delightful scent and for a moment you could be forgiven for thinking that you are on tropical shores. Using the exfoliator on moist skin lathers up really well so that a little goes a long way. I was really impressed by this exfoliator which provides a deep, full exfoliation yet feels so gentle on the skin.
Although this exfoliator is made using Brittany sea salt, and you get the great exfoliating results that sea salt gives, it smells like it has been made from sugar cane which, having a sweet tooth, I found pleasing. Despite its sweet nature it is not sickly or sticky but very refreshing and detoxifying to use.
One of the best things about this exfoliator, though, is its moisturising nature. My skin felt as though it had been moisturised, even though the exfoliating results were faultless, and my skin was left with stunning luminous sheen. I would say that any skin type could use this exfoliator but, whilst a dry/flaky skin type may want to use it every other day, an oily or sensitive skin type may only need to use it once a week, if that.
I believe that with continued use skin would certainly feel and look firmer and suppler on the outside, whilst being healthier on the inside.
Price and Packaging
Priced at £25.00 (200ml). For a body exfoliator this is quite expensive but consider the natural anti-ageing ingredients that this product has, and the fact that it is a luxurious spa product, and it doesn’t seem so steep. It is also quite fluid for a rich exfoliator of this nature which means you can get lots of applications out of the one tub.
The packaging is lovely a stylish white glass tub with silver writing. Often the packaging of eco-packaged, natural beauty products is, quite frankly, dull and plain, but not Pevonia Botanica’s; the Ligne Tropicale packaging is stylish and oozes luxury. It also includes a handy little plastic applicator to keep the product clean.

Although one of the main ingredient’s is sea salt, this is a sugary scrub so sweet smelling you want to eat it! But which really does work effectively well to leave skin flake free, silky smooth and with a super sexy, slimming sheen.
When used in conjunction with Ligne Tropicale’s De-Ageing Body Balm your skin will be in a more youthful, radiant condition.
