Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus is a fabulous new serum said to repair environmental damage and reduce the appearance of wrinkles by boosting skin’s collagen production. It will also soften and brighten the skin for all-round better appearance. The long-term results are meant to be similar to undergoing laser surgery, hence the name. Clinique say that you should see a reduction in lines and wrinkles in just 4 weeks but in 12 weeks, achieve 63% of the visible wrinkle reducing power of a laser. One of the great things about this repair product is that it can be used around the delicate eye area too, thus potentially helping to get rid of crow’s feet.
Who’s it for
The serum is to be used as a repair product and just three drops should be applied am and pm after cleansing. It is for any skin type and age who has experienced skin damage through environmental causes looking to repair the look of their skin and protect it from further stresses. It is meant for people who have visible damage to their skin e.g. wrinkles, age spots, sagging, dehydration.
Repair past UV damage
The serum targets damage caused by UV rays – the biggest cause of premature ageing to the skin. Three patented repair enzymes encapsulated in a liposome delivery system penetrate deep below skin’s surface where they work to mend damaged cells. While some of the enzymes are targeted to repair the skin by night, others repair better by day which is why this serum is most effective when used both day and night.
Polypeptide technology encourages the skin to boost its natural collagen production. Whey Protein – a natural, amino acid is just one of the polypeptides in this serum which helps to firm the skin while minimising the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Protect against environmental stresses
A selection of free radical fighting ingredients work to prevent future damage to the skin from UV, pollution and other environmental stresses. The magic ingredients include the potent anti-oxidants vitamins C and E, Ellagic Acid from Pomegranate as well as free radical busting amino acids.
At JMA, we trialled the serum for two weeks. On application it felt soft and was easy to spread. The serum quickly absorbed into the skin so moisturiser or makeup could be applied straight away. On first application skin looked brighter and more radiant.
After using the serum twice a day for two weeks, our tester was pleased to notice an improvement in their skin’s clarity as well as the appearance of wrinkles, particularly around the eye area where they looked softer. We were impressed by the serum which certainly feels good on the skin – as though it is strengthening and firming it. We certainly think that the long-term benefits of this serum would be even better having noticed an improvement in just two weeks.
Price and Packaging
The serum comes in a stylish silver bottle which we particularly like the look of. However, it does look better than it feels since the glass look casing is actually plastic. Nevertheless, with an easy to use drop applicator, you can quickly and efficiently measure out the 3 drops you require and avoid wastage which is really all that matters in a bottle.
The serum is £35 for 30ml which is good value when you compare it to competitor’s repair products.
An excellent serum for people wanting to repair damaged skin without undergoing laser surgery. We would recommend this product for people aged thirty plus with visible wrinkles.
