What red lipstick for blondes?

I think that there is a red lipstick to suit everyone. It depends on your skin tone and hair colour – is it cool or warm? Are you a honey or icy shade of blonde? If you have a warm skin tone and warm hair colour then look for reds with warm brown or orange undertones such as 'siren red' or 'burnt orange red'. If you have a cool skin tone and hair colour look for reds with blue / purple / pink undertones. If your skin tone and hair tone are opposites, next look at your eye colour – blue eyes often suit cooler tones and brown eyes warmer. Avoid dark brown or plummy reds as these can be too dramatic and unflattering for blondes and make you look very pale. Good luck at the wedding :)

Blondes can certainly have fun wearing red!

 

I would match the colour to the dress for the best effect! But I absolutely love Clarins' new Rouge Prodige lipstick in Red Prodige if you are looking for a particular lippie. It's featured in our article on glamorous makeup looks :) 

Are you getting the makeup professionally done on the day? If so the makeup artist should be able to show you which lipstick will suit you. If not, I would visit a beauty counter and get an adviser to try out some different reds on you.  Red can be a matter of trial and error. Good luck! :) x
