I recently purchased a very expensive foundation brush but I find that when I use it my foundation looks streaky! What am I doing wrong?

Brushes are meant to make your foundation look even as applying it with your hands can look patchy. Perhaps you are putting too much foundation on the brush and not blending it in well enough. I apply my foundation in the following steps:
1. Moisturise
2. Pour the amount of foundation I need onto the back of my hand
3. Using a clean brush I take the foundation a bit at a time from the back of my hand.
4. Starting with my cheeks I blend the foundation in downward strokes, followed by my forehead, nose and cheeks until the coverage looks flawless.

That's strange coz you can't go wrong really. Perhaps it's the brushes hair? Which make is it?

It is a Benefit brush and has quite rough bristles. I think I will try returning it. Thanks for the advice :)

I'm not familiar with Benefit brushes but it doesn't sound right. Foundation brushes should be soft. Mine is Estee Lauder. Good luck returning it - let us know how you get on :)
